Hello All,

I wanted to see if anyone was interested in brewing a Port Porter that i will host at my house. I was able to score a Port barrell from a local vineyard that they are bottling their port in the next week and i can get the barrell after that. A 60 gallon Port barrell. I am not sure how it exactly works, but i heard that shares of this can be sold to those that are interested, or something of the sort.
Since the barrell will be ready shortly, unfortunately there is not much time to do the brew day, as i would like to give about a week for primary (or so) and then a one week secondary for extra clarification prior to aging in the barrell. So, i was hoping to do a brew day by this weekend, Dec 2nd or 3rd.
It would be nice to have someone who knows how to operate the BBS, as this will help out extremely. I can also brew on my system and then another 10 gallon batch, so we have a little left over for topping off the barrell through the aging process. Remember that this will be ALL GRAIN brewing. I can also do a double brew batch if we need to, but would like not to, if possible.
Then of course, we will need many carboys to do the initial and secondary fermentation into and keep them around 70*.

I am open to any suggestions to make this happen and be fun for all. Sorry for the short timeframe, but i just thought of it and thought that it would be great to do.

Please let me know if there are any questions or volunteers so that i can get all the grains, hops and yeast prior to this weekend.

  Thanx,

  Andrew
