Hey all,

On Sunday April 29 we will hold the second bi-annual (so far) light rail pub
crawl. This was a HUGE hit with the participants last time around. all four
of them. Beth, Madeline, Craig and I made the trek two years ago. Short
walks on spring days between bars really make a pub crawl fun. By the pub
crawl I'll have walking times between bars and some additional information
on what happened last time.

Our first stop was Hoppy for breakfast and brew. A combination of light rail
and walking took us to the next stop at Streets of London for a brew or two
on the patio.

Next, a short walk to Rubicon for a beer in standup mode (due to it being a
little busy).

At this point it started getting a little fuzzy. Ok, well perhaps it was
fuzzy before. I'm pretty sure we walked over to Brew It Up and had a couple
beers there.

Now things are unraveling.

I know we went to Pyramid. I think we were after appetizers or food or just
because we wanted to see a lot of copper and stainless steel sitting unused
behind glass walls.

I do remember taking light rail back east. We had sobered up over food and
the half hour rail trip.

This year:

We do not have to follow this itinerary. We don't have to follow an
itinerary at all. I'm pretty sure we were making decisions on the fly last
time to some extent. It would be nice to start at either Hoppy or Rubicon to
get breakfast and have a known meeting place besides the light rail station
at Iron Point in Folsom. I will be there and have my cell on if you want to
join up later in the trip.

I wouldn't mind going by River City brewing in place of Pyramid. Fox and
Goose has also been proposed. All this can be decided later.

Somebody besides me needs to go. One drunk wandering between bars is just
sad. Not completely out of the ordinary downtown but still a little sad.
Maddie will be joining the festivities in the early afternoon. Please don't
make her ask questions like "So you came down here to drink by yourself?" or
"Do you think you're worth the bail?"

Glen
