[Homebrewers] hords of fun is gone

Great ... one thing I didn't like about Hords of Fun was the fact that Alan Hord got 0.5 point of the allowable staff points from the competition for using his software. For QOB there's typically only 1 or 2 staff points depending on the number of entries.

Hi Steve,
I plan on using this software that has online
registration. It's is one of the software solutions on the bjcp website and was
recommended by Dave Houseman. It has some nice features:
Online registration of beers and
judges/stewards Contest registration forms and neck
labels for contest entrants Custom emails to brewers to confirm
arrival of their entries Custom emails to judges confirming
their registration Keeps contest entry and recipe
information in a secured, web-accessible database Keeps judge registration information
in a secured, web-accessible database Reports of judges available per
session Contest flight sheets for both first
and second rounds Winner's web page, with hyper-links to
their recipes Thank-you letters to your judges, and
mailing labels for them Results letters to your entrants, and
mailing labels for them

A lot of people are using HCCP http://www.folsoms.net/hccp/
The bad news
is that there's no alternative with on line registration.
Some people are
doing a "mail to" web form kind of thing.

Hi All,
I didn't get a chance to tell Glen, but I've already talked to Gordon
Stong and he has given me info on alternatives.
Hords of Fun won't be available this year.
Madeline

Does anyone have any info on Alan’s
site? The whole site appears to have been taken down. We need to move quickly to
get a new process in place for registration if the site isn’t coming back
up.
It was down Friday and is still
down.
Thanks,
Glen
