A few beer events heading our way, besides the mead day and campout, that can consume your life. The Shack, one of my new favorite places in Sac, is having a Belgian tasting on Tuesday the 5th at 6:00.$25 gets you samples 15ish of Belgian beers, a Belgian glass and some food to boot. The Shack is on Folsom just East of Trader Joes, on the other side of the street. The YELLOW building. Call Gary at the Shack to RSVP, they have 40 spots total.
The Bistro, in Hayward is having their IPA fest Sat Aug 9th.
The Shack has a great Burger, as well as all the food I have had from them. This is this weeks specials
This week we honor the new Miss Universe with her national cuisine,
Venezuelan. We searched far and wide to bring you the most diverse and
traditional menu items we could find, because YOU deserve it. Here it is:
Manchego Arepas- a kind of thick corn tortilla that is split and stuffed
with your favorite filling a (black beans, beef, chicken, etc.)
Pabellon Criollo- shredded beef stew, one of the most traditional menu
items.
Tostones- fried plantains with sea salt and a little cayenne
Guasacaca- say that 3 times fast. this is like an avocado salsa with fresh
peppers and tomatoes.
Black Beans and Rice- i think you can figure this one out. we won't use any
pork products in this one for our vegetarian friends.
Snapper Criollo- this one is whole snapper rubbed with a spice mix, topped
with sliced onion and peppers, wrapped in banana leaves and baked.
Shrimp Ceviche- we will serve this over shredded romaine with cilantro.
For desert we will be making Venezuelan Chocolate Ice Cream.
I'm still not sure if there will be music or not, but we'll have a great
time anyway it works out. Hope to see you all here
Gary and Jen
Cheers
