COMPETITION RULES, REGULATIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION

We invite all brewers, judges, stewards, to participate in the 2nd Annual
Pepper Extravaganza, which takes place June 7th. If you would like to judge
or steward, please fill out the attached judge registration form and submit
it with your entry form. Even if you have never participated in a homebrew
competition, this is a great opportunity to learn more about beer, so we
encourage you to join us!! This will be an AHA/BJCP sanctioned competition.

The Competition: This competition is organized in memory of the Beckett Lake
Nursery, every year they held one of the area's best Hot Sauce and Pepper
Festivals around. The event organizers are fellow brewers, so we got to have
a booth and we would pass out samples of our Homebrewed Pepper beer. We had
several people bring their different creations for sampling, With the Pepper
Fest now extinct, we thought we would keep the tradition alive and host a
Pepper beer competition, in order to keep our creative minds going.

This competition is accepting all styles of beer that are brewed and/or
flavored with Peppers. We will combine similar style categories determined
by number of entries. A base beer style, and the type of peppers used will
be required. Please read below to verify how we break down the category.

Eligibility: The Pepper Extravaganza is open to all home brewers. No
commercial entries or entries brewed at a commercial establishment will be
accepted.

How to Enter: Each entry will consist of Two (2), 10 to 14 ounce (beer)
bottles, to be of brown or green colored glass only. All bottles must be
free of ink name-brand lettering, and paper labels. Raised "NO DEPOSIT", or
manufacturing codes are acceptable, as are Sam Adams-style bottles which
contain minimal raised glass. Bottle caps must be blacked out to eliminate
any identifying markings or graphics. Grolsch-type or swing top bottles are
not eligible. Bottles not meeting these requirements will be disqualified.
You may submit as many entries as you like. If you have any questions about
bottle eligibility, please send an email to: Dave
<mailto:dave at dunedinbrewersguild.com> .
